The US allocated $18 million to Ukraine for medical and humanitarian aid

The United States authorities allocated $18.3 million for medical and humanitarian aid to Ukraine since the beginning of the new coronavirus pandemic.

“The USA provides assistance through the State Department and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)… The U.S. Department of State also provides assistance through the State Department and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to Ukraine worth approximately $18.3 million,” the U.S. foreign policy ministry said in a statement. It stressed that these funds are intended “to improve the capacity of local health care institutions to assist patients and combat the further spread of COVID-19,” as well as to mitigate the socio-economic impact “including on conflict-affected residents in eastern Ukraine.
