Austrian Interior Minister Karl Nehammer said that according to the investigation, the “Vienna terrorist” acted alone.
“At the moment, there are no specific indications that there was a second offender,” he told reporters on Wednesday, the live broadcast was hosted by the Austrian television channel ORF.
According to him, after checking the video footage sent by witnesses of the attack, it became clear that the perpetrator was alone.
The shooting took place in Vienna on Monday night near Schwedenplatz square near the main synagogue in Stadtempel. Chancellor Sebastian Kurz confirmed that the police considered the incident a terrorist attack.
At least four people were killed in the attack.
A three-day mourning period was declared in Austria in connection with the tragedy.
