Since September 27 in the capital of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) Stepanakert 180 unexploded cluster bombs, prohibited by the convention, dropped by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces were discovered. The press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the unrecognized republic reported about it on Saturday.

“Bomb squaders destroyed the shells on the spot. Bomb squads of the Emergency Situations Ministry’s rescue forces continue to search for and neutralize unexploded ammunition after rocket attacks on the Azerbaijani Armed Forces on the spot,” the ministry said.

The aggravation of the Karabakh conflict occurred on September 27 when the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan announced the beginning of military operation. On Saturday at 12:00 (11:00 Moscow time) the ceasefire agreement came into force. Yerevan and Baku accused each other of violating the regime.

Earlier on Saturday Azerbaijan also stated that Armenia had used prohibited ammunition.
