At least three people have been killed in a powerful explosion in the center of Madrid, the Spanish news agency EFE reported.
The mayor of the city has so far confirmed the two deaths. Earlier media also reported six wounded.
The attack destroyed four floors of a building on Toledo Street, which is believed to be located next to a nursing home. There were no injuries to the residents and the building is being evacuated.
There is no exact information about the cause of the accident. A preliminary version is a gas leak, writes Mundo. Emergency services, firefighters, medics and police are working at the site.
