A Russian officer was injured in Nagorno Karabakh as a result of a mine explosion, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
One Azerbaijani soldier was also killed. In addition, four employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic were injured.
The Russian serviceman was taken to Baku and his life was not threatened.
The mine exploded near the village of Madagiz.
A joint team was working in Tertersky district to find the bodies of the dead. The group included Russian peacekeepers, representatives of the Azerbaijani armed forces, the Nagorno-Karabakh Ministry of Emergency Situations and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
The Russian Defense Ministry noted that the joint groups had been set up at the initiative of the command of the Russian peacekeeping forces in Nagorno-Karabakh. The task of those groups is to search for and hand over the bodies of those killed in the conflict.
