Michigan lottery participant wins $1 billion

Michigan resident won $1 billion after taking part in the Mega Millions lottery, according to the organizer’s website.

The drawing was held on January 22. The unnamed lottery winner was the owner of the only ticket in which all six winning numbers matched.

This was the second largest jackpot. According to the lottery organizer, the world record remains unchanged: it belongs to a South Carolina resident who won more than $1.5 billion in October 2018.
