Legendary Argentine footballer Diego Maradona died at the age of 60

Maradona was discharged from the hospital on November 11. The ex-footballer underwent the operation due to a subdural hematoma. It was reported that after discharge, Maradona was taken to the clinic for treatment of alcohol abuse.

Last time Diego was seen in public on October 30 at the match of the 1st round of Argentine championship of his team “Jimnasia and Esgrima” with “Patronato” (3:0), which was dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Maradona. Before the match he was given a commemorative plaque. Diego did not stay to watch the game, citing the bad health. Later it was reported that he was taken to the Ipens Clinic in La Plata, about an hour from Buenos Aires.

Maradona headed the “Jimnasium” in September 2019. Prior to that, the 59-year-old specialist worked at the Mexican Doradoos, Al Wasla and Al Fujairah from the UAE, as well as heading the national team of Argentina. During his time as a soccer player Diego defended the colors Archentinos Juniors, Boca Juniors, Barcelona, Napoli, Seville and Newell’s Old Boys. In total, during his club career Maradona played 492 matches, in which he scored 258 goals. For the national team of Argentina has played 91 matches, scored 34 goals.
