Hong Kong residents will be tested free of charge for coronavirus

The head of the Hong Kong administration Carrie Lam promised to run a free test for coronavirus COVID-19 for all residents of the city within two weeks, reports the agency Associated Press.

Lam noted that the test will help to identify cases of coronavirus infection, proceeding asymptomatically, and slow its spread among the people of Hong Kong.

She also noted that the reception of tests will be organized taking into account all sanitary requirements, and the authorities will try to avoid queues.

There are 7.5 million people living in Hong Kong. Now the city is fighting a new outbreak of coronavirus, registering about 100 new cases of infection per day. A total of 3.8 thousand infections have been detected there, and 46 people have died.
