A plane from Nuremberg, which flew to transport Alexei Navalny to Berlin’s Charite Hospital, sat down in Omsk. This was reported by an airport information service employee.
This is a medical plane, equipped to transport comatose patients. The dpa agency reported that the flight was paid by individuals. Assistance in the treatment of Navalny the day before was offered by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuelle Macron.
Politician Julia Navalnaya’s wife said Friday morning that she was already preparing documents to transport her husband to Germany, but suddenly doctors said he was untransportable and banned the flight. She said she couldn’t trust them and that the transportation was postponed so that the traces of the toxin that had poisoned him would disappear from the patient’s body.
Navalny’s condition had improved by morning, but doctors don’t see any clear stability and hesitate to allow transportation, Aleksandr Murakhovsky, chief physician at Omsk Emergency Medical Aid Hospital No. 1, told reporters.
On Friday, doctors held a large consultation with Moscow specialists. Murakhovsky said it was decided that Navalny’s transportation remains in question because of the instability of his condition.
Asked by journalists whether Omsk doctors would consult colleagues at the German clinic in Charite, where relatives want to transport Navalny, Murakhovsky said he does not consider doctors from the Burdenko and Pirogov clinics less qualified than his German colleagues.
According to the head doctor, Navalny is still unconscious, and no prediction can be given now.
