Three shells were fired at Baghdad International Airport on Saturday night, the Anatolian News Agency reported, citing the Iraqi Defense Ministry.
According to available information, two of the shells exploded directly on the airport territory, the third hit a residential building in the al-Jihad district in the west of the Iraqi capital. The building sustained damage.
There were no casualties or damage to the building. No one has yet claimed responsibility for the shelling.
As the agency recalls, Baghdad’s international airport is often targeted because of the location of the US military base at Victoria.
